NOTICE is hereby given that the City Clerk of the Town of Richton, MISSISSIPPI, will receive sealed bids until 10:00 am on August 29th , 2024 in the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 206 Dogwood Avenue East, and then at said location opened and read aloud for furnishing the City's requirements for the following:

All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to 5% of the amount of the bid, in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check or a bid bond written by a company properly licensed in Mississippi.

The successful bidder must comply with Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968 and its associated regulations (24 C.F.R., Part 75). CDBG regulations governing the grant require that, to the greatest extent feasible opportunities for contracting, subcontracting, training and employment arising in connection with this CDBG project will be extended to Section 3 businesses, Targeted Section 3 Workers and Section 3 Workers.

Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and/or supply needs.

The successful bidder must comply with the Davis-Bacon Act which requires that all laborers and mechanics shall be paid at rates not less than those determined by the Department of Labor to be prevailing for the locality in which the project is located. The successful bidder must comply with the Build America, Buy America Act enacted as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) Pub. L. 117-58

No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days. The lowest and best proposal received will be accepted, subject to the provisions of Section 31-7-13 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, Annotated and Amended, and other applicable State law; but the Council reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received and to waive informalities.
